The Sikh Welfare Council handles around 70 such cases every year, and helps make complete funeral arrangements if necessary. Please refer to Family Bereavement Assistance in the Services menu for more information.

We have had cases over the years where a patient in a local hospital had no one in Singapore (old and alone; overaseas Sikh visitor who fell ill or had an accident here), was in serious condition, or was ill and felt depressed, etc. When our welfare officers came to know of the cases, a visit was made to see how the patient can be assisted. In some cases, all a patient needs is some counselling and the knowledge that someone is there in their time of need.

If you know of any one in such a situation, do call us at the hotline number given at the top of this website and ask for a welfare officer to help you.

For more than a decade now, experiened Sikh Welfare volunteers have been making weekly / monthly visits to Sikh inmates in local drug rehabilitation centres and prisons.

In most cases, our volunteers will find out about new inmates in the course of their work. If you know of someone who needs a visit from our volunteers / counsellors, please do contact us by calling the hotline number given at the top of this website and provide full details of the case.

The nature of our assistance will depend on the case.
