YUVA Mentoring Program

Youth who are United, Virtuous and Aspiring
Together We Care and Can Make a Difference

We are committed to engaging the children and youth of the Sikh community to continue to be resilient in a changing environment. They are not just young people, they are citizens of our Sikh community. They are our resources and investments. Together we care and we can make a difference.

Our Mission

We aim to empower children/youth in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential.

About YUVA Mentoring Program

This is a cross-age, developmental mentoring program brought together with a common belief that children in the Sikh community can benefit from meaningful academic and social guidance. It links older youths to younger youths in a mentor-mentee relationship that can address early warning signs of problems.

Benefits of Mentoring

Research has shown that mentoring can benefit mentees in that they are more likely to have improved academic performance and better relationships with their teachers and family compared to their peers who are not mentored. Mentors too benefit from fostering the growth and development of the younger generation, improve their leadership skills and reflect on their own practices.
