Family Bereavement Assistance |
The objectives of the Family Bereavement Programme are to provide bereaved families with social, emotional, spiritual and financial support by assisting individuals / families during bereavement. These will include:
• Ensuring SIWEC Council Representative meets up with the bereaved family at the earliest opportunity.
• Assisting affected family in attending to the administrative arrangements for cremation of the deceased.
• Arranging for a hearse according to the wishes of the family.
• Providing guidance on procedural and ceremonial matters.
• Providing spiritual counselling to the individuals affected by the bereavement in the family.
• Arranging with the management of the religious institution selected by the family for the priest to attend to final rites.
• Providing relevant assistance to the family up to the day of final prayers for the departed soul. |
